Dark, rich and extremely flavorful, with deep plum and cherry notes accented by flavors of vanilla and coffee from the dark-toasted oak barrels. The concentrated flavors and moderate tannins create a smooth mouth feel.
The 18-acre Carneros hillside vineyard is one of the last blocks to ripen and is meticulously tended throughout the growing season. Fog and afternoon winds cool the vines and slow the growth, allowing the grapes to develop intense flavors.
Hand-picked without being crushed, fermented, pressed off the skins and moved to French oak with a dark-toast level for aging.
