This complex and versatile wine pairs well with foods like lamb, braised meats, grilled salmon or mushroom risotto.
Our Petite Sirah is made from grapes grown on the 3 acre Lucchesi Vineyard. Planted in deep, sandy soil and dry farmed, we feel that this 40 year old vineyard provides us with an intensity and richness that yields our highest quality Petite Sirah grapes.
These grapes were hand picked at the peak of ripeness. They underwent total de-stemming and a very gentle crushing to ensure a large portion of whole berries were left in the must. Fermentation occurred in stainless steel tanks with select cultured yeasts. It was then maintained at the ideal temperature to aid in the extraction of flavor and color. The wine was pressed off its skins at dryness before being racked to medium-toasted French Oak (approximately 40% new) where it was gently aged for 12 months and then stored in neutral cooperage.
