This 2021 Cline Sauvignon Blanc is a treat! Grapefruit grabs you at first, as aromas of lemon and orange zest follow. Bright flavors of lime, melon, and guava are vibrant and juicy. Wet river stones reveal the depth of this wine and zingy acidity balances and ties the wine together.

The 2021 Seven Ranchlands Sauvignon Blanc is sourced primarily from our Jacuzzi Vineyard in Carneros at the Southern end of Sonoma Valley and within the famed Sonoma Coast appellation. The vines are young, producing vibrant fruit, and we also grow some Semillon which aids the mouthfeel and enhances the texture of the wine while nicely complementing the aromatics. The soils are Haire Clay Loams, close to the flood line of the San Pablo Bay. The cooling winds and fog of the bay are ideal for late-ripening Sauvignon Blanc with lots of flavors.

The grapes are picked separately and gently pressed immediately. The juice is settled for 48 hours and then racked off of solids to a stainless steel fermentor. We inoculate with an aromatic yeast specifically chosen to unlock more flavor compounds during fermentation and bring about the wonderful Sauvignon Blanc character. Temperature is controlled at 65F early to promote aromatic creation and then cooled to retain the aromatics and give a clean fermentation. After fermentation, we rack off the yeast and store it in a mixture of barrels and stainless steel tanks until the best lots are chosen for blending and bottling.
