This is a big and flavorful wine that can be enjoyed by itself or paired with food. It is relatively soft in the mouth and presents with notes of rich blackberry, plum, and mocha. This complex and versatile wine pairs well with foods like lamb, braised meats, or mushroom risotto.

The 2018 Cline Petite Sirah is made from grapes grown in the 3 acre Lucchesi Vineyard. Planted in deep, sandy soil and dry-farmed we feel that this 41-year-old vineyard provides us with an intensity and richness that makes it our highest quality Petite Sirah vineyard. Try for yourself and see!

These grapes were handpicked at the peak of ripeness. They underwent total destemming and a very gentle crushing to ensure a large proportion of whole berries were left in the must. Fermentation occurred in stainless steel tanks with select cultured yeasts. It was then maintained at the ideal temperature to aid in the extraction of flavor and color. The wine was pressed off its skins at dryness before being racked to medium-toasted French Oak (approximately 40% new) where it was gently aged for twelve months and then stored in neutral cooperage.

Tasting Notes & Pairings

This wine is big-bodied, chewy, with moderate tannin and a coffee-mocha character. Pair with big flavorful foods that can stand up to the weight and fruit intensity of this wine. Anything barbequed would pair well with this wine.
